Thermo Ayous

Ayous is a lightweight, low-density, Central and West African tropical hardwood. With the botanical name Triplochiton Scleroxylon, also known as Obeche, Samba, Abachi, African Whitewood and Wawa. Ayous typically grows to around 50m in height. Once thermally modified, Ayous becomes incredibly stable and durable.

 COLOUR AND FINISH

  • The thermal modification process changes the colour of the timber (Thermo Ayous is dark brown).

  • Oil and water-based coatings and stains can be used.
